Seneca Police makes arrests for drugs, passing a school bus and failing to register as a sex offender

On 10/17/19, Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Cherokee/Thomas Ln for a moving violation. The passenger, Dustin McDaniel was arrested on four warrants. Three FTA Warrants out of Seneca for: Equipment Violation, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, and Peace Disturbance. McDaniel also had a warrant out of Newton County for: Non Support. McDaniel was then transported to Newton County.

On 10/13/19, Officer Housley attempted to make a traffic stop at Avalon Lane for multiple moving violations but the vehicle didn’t stop. A pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit finally ended around Dolphin Dr. and Hwy 86. The driver was arrested for: Resisting Arrest, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, C&I Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The subject was then transported to Newton County Jail.

On 10/13/19, Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Cherokee/Chippewa for multiple moving violations. When Officer Housley approached the vehicle he could immediately smell the odor of Marijuana.

The driver, Sara Ashley was arrested on two FTA warrants out of Joplin for: Passing a School Bus and No Seatbelt.

The backseat passenger, Keith Smith was arrested for an FTA warrant out of Joplin for: Consumption of Liquor. The passenger also got new charges of: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana. Both Smith and Ashley were transported to Newton County Jail.

On 10/12/19, Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Washington/Mineral St for a moving violation. After receiving consent to search, Officer Housley arrested two subjects for Possession and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On 10/5/19, Officer Kirby made a traffic stop at Cherokee Ave/Mill St for an equipment violation. The front passenger, Ronald Bruner had an outstanding warrant that was nine years old from Logan County, Arkansas for: Failure to register as a Sex Offender. Bruner was arrested and transported to Newton County Jail.

On 10/4/19, Officer Housley was dispatched to a call of a C&I driver headed south on Hwy 43. Officer Housley spotted the vehicle and made a traffic stop by Hwy U/Hwy43. The driver was arrested for: DWS and was given a citation for: C&I Driving and transported to Newton County Jail.
