Pierce City teen seriously injured in rollover crash near Ritchey

A Pierce City teen was injured in a one-vehicle crash 6:35 p.m. Wednesday on Route W, five miles north of Ritchey.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Dakota J. Hood, 19, Pierce City, lost control on a hillcrest, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned several times ejecting Hood.

Hood was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
