Five new Joplin police officers complete academy, ready to hit the streets

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Five new Joplin Police Officers officially completed their in-house training academy Friday and are ready to hit the streets of Joplin.

These officers will now undergo a 16-week field training program that will mark their final leg of training in this long goal of becoming a solo beat officer serving the citizens of Joplin.

Their graduation Friday was marked with a ceremony where they were welcomed to the agency by Chief Sloan Rowland, their badge was pinned on by a family member, they were issued personalized bibles by our chaplains, and were officially sworn in as Joplin Police Officers.

Please join us in congratulating them on their accomplishments and welcome them to our agency. They are:

Officer Elijah Jones
Officer Jarrod OHara
Officer Michael Ritter
Officer Isreal Rocha
Officer Othellis Roper
