Cedar County escapee captured at Casey's in Lamar

Cedar County escapee Christian Myers was arrested at Casey's in Lamar this morning thanks to alert citizens who recognized him from a social media post and called the police. 

Lamar officers were able to quickly respond and take him into custody before he left. 

Thank you to these citizens for your actions in reporting this suspicious subject.

At approximately 8:04 this evening, Christian Myers escaped from custody while at Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs. 

Myers was wearing bright orange Cedar County Jail clothing and he was in handcuffs. 

Myers has long black hair, is 6ft. 1 inches in height and weighs 160 lbs. He was being held in Cedar County jail on charges of burglary and stealing with a $5,000 bond. Anyone with information about possible whereabouts or if you see him please call the Sheriffs Office at 417-276-5133.
