On 10-31-2020, Halloween night, officers did a compliance check for the registered sex offenders in the city limits of Lamar.
The offenders were to avoid all Halloween related contact with children, remain inside their residence between the hours of 5 PM and 10:30 PM unless required to be elsewhere for just cause, including, but not limited to, employment or medical emergencies, post a sign at their residence stating, “No candy or treats at this residence”, and to leave all outside residential lighting off during the evening hours after 5 PM.
There are 11 Offenders in the city limits of Lamar and 5 of the 11 were in compliance. The others did not have a sign on their door.
Charges will be submitted to the prosecutor for consideration of formal charges.
