Diamond man arrested for DWI after three people injured in rollover crash on I-44


A Diamond man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 12:30 a.m. today on I-44, three-quarters of a mile east of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by Lavel D. Hamilton-Pinchback, 20, Diamond, failed to stop for a dead end sign, traveled over I-44 and rolled.








Hamilton-Pinchback and a passenger, Jacob Riggs, 20, Oronogo, were treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

Another passenger, Joshua M. Ellerman, 18, Higginsville, was treated for minor injuries at Mercy.

In addition to DWI, Hamilton-Pinchback was cited for possession of marijuana.
