Fire at 2702 W. 23rd Street termed accidental

On Saturday, 23 January 2021, at 8:37 PM, the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 2702 W 23rd Street. 

The first crew arrived at 8:41 PM to find a single-story residential structure with smoke coming from the garage. All occupants were outside. 








Crews attacked the fire, extinguished it, and then checked the garage for any fire extension. Crews remained on scene until 9:29 PM.

The Joplin Fire Department responded with 6 units and 17 personnel. The Fire Department was assisted by METS Ambulance Service and the Joplin Police Department. There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental in nature.
