Joplin, Webb City residents injured in collision

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision 8 p.m. Saturday on Business Loop I-49, two miles south of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, while a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Anthony D. Shrum, 21, Webb City, was stopped to make a left turn, it was struck in the rear by a 2002 Ford F150 driven by Wade A. Melton, 72, South Hutchinson, Kansas.

After the impact, both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway, with the Shrum vehicle overturning.

Shrum and a passenger in his vehicle, Michael D. Shrum, 22, Joplin, were treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
