Public meeting planned to discuss Joplin parks survey results

(From the City of Joplin)

With warmer weather throughout these past few months, many residents have enjoyed one of the City’s parks or walked along one of the trails.

In the summer, the golf course and aquatic center welcomed hundreds of people for some fun outdoor activities. These are just some of the many amenities that Joplin Parks and Recreation offers to citizens year-round.

Providing opportunities for today’s families is important, and the City is also planning for future generations. A Parks and Recreation Master Plan process was recently launched, using surveys and personal interviews with citizens to learn what is important today and hoped for tomorrow.

Join us at a Public Meeting to discuss these findings. The meeting will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 at the Joplin History and Mineral Museum, 504 S. Schifferdecker Avenue, located in Schifferdecker Park. Hear the results from surveys and community meetings and learn about the next steps in the master plan process as the City engages our citizens for a great place to live, work and play!
