A Joplin woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident 1:30 a.m. today on MO 171, one mile east of Carterville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Honda Pilot driven by Cindy B. Wrenfrow, 56, Joplin, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
Jasper County Coroner Rob Chapel pronounced Wrenfrow dead at the scene.
The fatality was the third this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
