Diamond woman seriously injured in crash on I-49, cited for DWI


A Diamond woman was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle crash 3:20 a.m. Monday on I-49, four miles south of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Ford Freestyle driven by Lacey D. Carneal, 30, Diamond, traveled off the roadway and overturned.

Carneal, who was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, was also cited for careless and imprudent driving, no valid license, no proof of insurance and for not wearing a seat belt.
