Republic Services running limited trash routes in Joplin today

(From Republic Services)

Republic Services, the Joplin residential trash provider, will not be running their routes today, Thursday, February 11, for trash and curbside recycling pickup due to weather conditions.

Republic’s Customer Services Manager Jennifer Fagan said, “We are attempting to pick up about 250 stops from Friday which consists of homes in the Wildwood area and Indiana Avenue and a few main roads around that area. The side roads are still too dangerous.”

She also noted that Republic is closely monitoring the weather for next week due to continued freezing temperatures and more precipitation forecast. Republic will formulate a plan first of the week.

Since Monday, trash service has been cancelled, and Republic has said that the customers missed throughout this week will have all of their trash picked up on their regular day next week, weather permitting. Residents should put extra trash in bags and place next to their polycarts for pick-up on their regular service day.

Safety is a major concern and Republic asks that residents be patient during these challenging weather conditions and to watch for future announcements.

Residents may call the Recycling Coordinator at 417-624-0820, ext. 501 when there is a question as to whether trash service will be delayed, or for any recycling, household hazardous waste and trash disposal issues.
