Joplin Police Department officers, administrative assistant to chief retire

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Today marks a very special day for several employees at the Joplin Police Department.

Officer Shelby Howard, Officer Rick Hirshey and Captain Larry Swinehart are retiring after 20 years of service to the citizens of Joplin.

In addition, Tina Schroer, who is retiring as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police, is retiring after 27 years and 8 months of service.

Each of them were recognized this morning and presented with a proclamation recognizing their service and dedication.

The retiring officers received their shadow boxes containing their memorabilia earned over the years. The FOP also provided recognition as well.

Please join us in congratulating them on their retirements as we wish them the best as they begin new chapters in their lives.
