Bicycle traffic violations lead to arrest of Lamar man on meth charges

(From the Lamar Police Department)

During the evening on 09/07/22 Officer Jeffery attempted to stop a male on a bicycle near 13th and Grand, after observing several traffic violations.

The male fled on the bicycle and then jumped from the bike and ran on foot through neighborhood yards. Officer Jeffery and Officer Bray pursued the male and were able to take him into custody.

After the arrest, it was found that the male had baggies of suspected methamphetamine totaling more than 2.5 grams. The male was identified as Dallas L. Underwood, 31 of Lamar Mo.

At this time Underwood is being held in the Barton County jail awaiting formal charges for Resisting Arrest/Detention, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

As is the case of all arrest, charges are based on probable cause and all defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in court.
