Carthage teen arrested on burglary charge, fentanyl charge anticipated

(From the Galena Police Department)

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at approximately 07:30, Galena Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 4th Street and Main Street in reference a male subject attempting to get into vehicles.

Video footage was collected and the suspect was located at Casey’s. During questioning, the male fled on foot, and after a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody.

It was also found the suspect had stolen items while inside Casey’s earlier in the morning.

19-year-old Hunter Parman, of Carthage, Missouri, is currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail for 2 counts of Attempted Burglary of a Vehicle, Theft, and Interference with Law Enforcement.

Additionally, once at the jail, Parman was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected fentanyl. Additional charges of possession of controlled substance, possession of Paraphernalia, and Trafficking Drugs into a Correctional Facility are being submitted.

We would also like the thank the Galena Volunteer Fire Department Fireman who assisted in taking Parman into custody.
