Springfield man suffers serious injuries in pickup-scooter collision on Schifferdecker

A Springfield man was injured in a two-vehicle collision 10:22 a.m. today on Schifferdecker Drive at Crow Road a half mile south of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a motorized bicycle scooter driven by Johnathan W. Evans, 27, Springfield, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a 1997 Chevrolet pickup driven by Joshua L. Horton, 19, Joplin, in the side.

Evans was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
