(From KGCS)The Missouri Southern State University student body, faculty, staff and the entire Joplin area community are invited to a big spring concert at Fred G. Hughes Stadium featuring the alternative pop rock band, Plain White T’s.
Campus Activities Board members will share details of the concert event that will open with regional band Dawson Hollow on this week’s Newsmakers program.
Kaylea Furgerson, Director of Student Activities joins student leaders in discussing the band choice and the community engagement created by offering the big concert on Friday, May 3rd. Plain White T’s is a Grammy nominated band from Chicago known for their signature songs “Hey there Delilah” and “Rhythm of Love.” Taija Jones and Jacob Martinez, CAB Promotion directors, Grace Nelson, CAB Director of Activities and Sadie Smiles, CAB Membership Enrichment talk about planning activities for students and how being part of CAB enriches their lives.
Newsmakers is airing nightly at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. the week of April 14 on KGCS-TV and will air at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20 on KOAM-TV. It is also posted on the station’s YouTube channel: KGCS - Missouri Southern State University.
KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21 and is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communications at Missouri Southern State University.
