Joplin Police Department employee retires after 26 years

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Please join us as we celebrate Diane Walkenshaw, who retires today as an Administrative Assistant with the Joplin Police Department after 26 years of service.

Diane has been such a tremendous asset to our agency and the citizens of Joplin. 25 years of her career has been spent in the Investigations Bureau of Joplin PD.

She has served through several different administrations, had a number of different bosses, and has seen dozens of Detectives grow their careers in that bureau.

Every person who has worked in that bureau knows first hand how she kept everything organized, was a great liaison to other agencies and organizations, and would help out anywhere she was needed.

Diane is truly one of the most caring and selfless individuals to ever grace the halls of JPD. Diane always remembered birthdays and her homemade cinnamon rolls and baked goods are going to be highly missed by all. As she closes this chapter in her life and looks back on her time at the Joplin Police Department, Diane said "My job has been the best job in the whole city".

We wish you the very best Diane and hope you have a great retirement. You've earned it. Congratulations and thank you again.
