One Joplin sex offender breaks law on Halloween

On October 31, 2014 officers with the Joplin Police Department conducted a check of registered sex offenders within the city limits of Joplin to make sure that they were in compliance with the Sex Offender Halloween Law (RSMo 589.426).

There was a total of 28 registered sex offenders that are required to comply with this law and all
28 were checked. There was one registered sex offender that was found to not be in compliance with the law. Paperwork has been submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Officer for review of formal charges. No arrest has been made at this time.
