Neosho man charged with DWI following injury accident on 43

A Neosho man was charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs, following a one-vehicle accident 5:30 p.m. Saturday on MO 43, two miles north of Southwest City.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu driven by James D. Colvard, 39, Neosho, ran off the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned into a utility pole.

Colvard and a passenger, Kelsey D. Bowen, 32, Jane, were treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

In addition to DWI, Colvard was cited for driving while revoked, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, no seat belt, no insurance, and failure to secure a child under eight in a child restraint seat.
