The Catholic Charities USA Mobile Response Center laundry trailer is here and open!
They are set up at Benton Elementary, 1120 Carl Sweeney Pkwy, on the north side of the campus, near Stratford Pl.
As of now they will be at this location TODAY (TUESDAY, JULY 2) ONLY, before moving on to other flood-affected locations in the area like Anderson and Cassville.
They will be open into the evening for as long as there is demand for their services.
Flood-affected residents are encouraged to take advantage of this courtesy service while they can, and to bring detergent if they have it.

Hi Randy, Catholic Charities USA loaned out the Mobile Response Unit and laundry trailer to Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri (CCSOMO), one its 167 member agencies. It is CCSOMO that is providing this service to disaster victims. CCSOMO is a best kept secret in social services for Missouri's 39 southern counties. We have been helping people here for 10 years and are happy to do so now but we would appreciate a correction to the record as we are wanting to raise our visibility so we can serve more people. - John Farmer de la Torre, Director of Communications, Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri
ReplyDeleteAlso, as a service to your readers, we will be helping out in Cassville tomorrow and July 4th, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cassville Fire Protection District office. Folks can bring their clothes to wash for free. We have heard reports of money being dispensed to wash laundry. We hope this mobile response unit and laundry trailer helps meet this need. The same rig will be in Anderson (McDonald County) at the same time on July 5.
