Joplin Police Department investigates shooting incident at 12th and Connor following domestic dispute

On July 7, 2019 at approximately 2215 hours and on July 8, 2019 at approximately 0102 hours the Joplin Police Department received calls from the area of 12th and Connor and 9th and Moffet in reference to people hearing what sounded like gunshots.

The callers were unable to give information where the gunshots were coming from. Officers responded to the area at those times but were unable to locate any issues or the source of the gunshots. It is unknown at this time if the gunshots were related to today’s incident.

Detectives have continued to follow-up with the earlier disturbance. The male and female were involved in a relationship. The female was assaulted by the male. The female did not have any visible injuries.







During the disturbance the male fired multiple rounds, no one was injured during the shooting.

The male has been identified as Jerry Paul Crow III (19 yoa) from Joplin, MO. Detectives are continuing to work and an update will be sent with charges.

On July 8, 2019 at approximately 09:50 A.M. officers with the Joplin Police Department were dispatched to 716 W. 9th Street for a disturbance.

Information was received from a person not at the residence that there was an issue at this location between a male and female. The caller also advised the male had discharged a firearm inside the residence.

Officers arrived on scene and could hear what sounded like an argument inside. Due to the information about possible gunshots a perimeter was set, and officers began using a loud hailer to get those involved with the address to exit.

A female and male both exited and were detained. Joplin Police Detectives are on scene now conducting an investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
