On 10/10/2019 at approximately 1030 hours, 16,14, and 12 year-old juveniles disclosed that they had been molested and identified 47-year old Shayne Batie, Carthage, as the perpetrator.
A subsequent investigation was conducted and Shayne Batie was taken into custody.
Batie is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail on a warrant for Statutory Sodomy 1st-deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 12 years old-Aggravated Sexual Offense, Child Molestation 2nd Degree-child less than 12 years of age, and Attempted Child Molestation 3rd Degree-child less than 14 years of age.
A bond of $100,000 cash only has been set with no contact with anyone under the age of 17 or with any of the victims.
