Two injured, one seriously, in collision on I-49 in Pineville

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision 9 a.m. today on I-49 at Pineville.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2014 Ram 1500 driven by Darwin J. Jackson, 80, Copperas Cove, Texas hydroplaned and struck a 2012 Chevrolet 2500 driven by Eric E. Ticas, 34, Van Buren, Arkansas and then struck a guard rail.

Ticas and a passenger in his vehicle, Santos M. Garcia, 77, Van Buren, Arkansas, were treated for serious and moderate injuries, respectively, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
