Rise in mumps cases reported in McDonald County

(From the McDonald County Health Department)

There has been a rise in mumps cases and we encourage anyone who may have contact with a confirmed case to get vaccinated.

If administered within 72 hours of exposure, the vaccine may provide some protection or modify the clinical course of disease.

Vaccinations are generally covered under insurance or there is a supply of vaccine for the uninsured at the health department. Hours Monday-Thursday 8-3:45 and Friday 8- Noon.
