According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Ford F-150 driven by Paul E. Kartka, 27, Montecello, Minnesota, lost control on the ice-covered roadway, crossed the center median and hit a guard rail and a 2000 Chrysler 300 driven by Everette E. Thurman, 77, Pineville.
Thurman was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
