Sarcoxie residents injured in collision on I-44

Two Sarcoxie residents were injured in a two-vehicle collision 8 a.m. today on I-44, two miles east of Mount Vernon.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2020 International driven by Joshua G. Schmidt, 38, Diamond, struck a 2004 Ford Mustang driven by Adrianna N. Swayne, 18, Sarcoxie, to travel off the left side of the roadway into the median cable.

Swayne and a passenger, Chason R. Brookshire, 21, Sarcoxie, were treated for minor injuries at Cox Urgent Care, Springfield.
