Seneca Police Department's double traffic stop leads to pair of drug arrests

On 3/19/20, Officer Thiel made a traffic stop at Hwy 43/Avalon for a moving violation. The driver was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance and transported to Newton County Jail.

On 3/18/20, Officer Thiel made a traffic stop at U Hwy/Stateline Rd for an equipment violation. The passenger, Douglas Berry had a warrant out of Jasper County for: Property Damage and was arrested and transported to Newton County Jail.

On 3/14/20, Officer Housley observed what he thought was a hand to hand drug transaction. Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Washington/Billings with one vehicle and Officer Zimmerman made a traffic stop at Washington/Thomas Ln on the other vehicle.

One subject was arrested and booked on the charges for: Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana. 

The second subject was arrested and booked on the charge of: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to Newton County Jail.
