Carthage woman cited for DWI following injury accident on 171

A Carthage woman was cited for driving while intoxicated on drugs following a one-vehicle accident 3:35 p.m. Thursday on MO 171, one mile east of Brooklyn Heights.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Shirley L. Jones, 28, Carthage, drove off the left side of the roadway into the median and struck a guardrail.

Jones, who was also cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless and imprudent driving, was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
