Highway Patrol Troop D announces promotions, MSSU graduate on list

Captain John M. Enderle, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the following promotions effective August 1, 2020:

Corporal David H. Brown was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will remain in his current assignment as the zone supervisor of Zone 20, marine operations. Brown was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 16, 2001, as a member of the 78th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 11, Randolph and Monroe counties. On April 2, 2006, he transferred to Troop D, Zone 3, Polk County. On July 1, 2013, he was promoted to corporal as the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 15, serving Stone County. On December 1, 2014, he transferred to Zone 20, marine operations.

Sergeant Brown graduated from South Callaway RII High School in Mokane, Missouri, in 1994. He is married to Erica and they have one child: Jessica Stacy.








Corporal Clinton S. Mason was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated as the zone supervisor of Zone 13, serving Newton and McDonald counties. Mason was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 1, 1997, as a member of the 74th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 13, Newton and McDonald counties. On July 1, 2016, he was promoted to corporal as the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 14, serving the citizens of Barry County.

Sergeant Mason graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Missouri, in 1989. He holds an associate degree in computer-aided drafting and design from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. Sergeant Mason is married to Cheryl and they have two children: Kayla and Karlee.

Corporal Chase A. Stallcup was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated as the zone supervisor of Zone 12, serving Christian County. Stallcup was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 1, 2008, as a member of the 88th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop I, Zone 4, Pulaski and Maries counties. On November 15, 2011, he transferred to Zone 8, serving Laclede County. On January 1, 2013, he transferred to Troop D, Zone 10, serving Webster County. On February 1, 2017, Stallcup was promoted to corporal and remained in Zone 10 as the assistant supervisor. On August 1, 2019, he transferred to Zone 12, serving Christian County.

Sergeant Stallcup graduated from Sparta High School in Sparta in Sparta, Missouri, in 2004. He holds bachelor’s degrees in criminology and psychology from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Sergeant Stallcup is married to Jordan and they have four children: Norah, Jaxon, Harlan, and Evelyn.

Corporal Matthew A. Goodson was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will remain in his current assignment as a Troop D commercial vehicle enforcement trooper (CVET). Goodson was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 6, 2008, as a member of the 87th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop I, Zone 1, Phelps and Maries counties. On August 1, 2013, he was promoted to corporal and remained in Zone 1 as the assistant zone supervisor. On April 1, 2014, he transferred to the CVET division within Troop I. On December 25, 2016, he transferred to the CVET division of Troop D.

Sergeant Goodson graduated from Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City, Missouri, in 2002. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Sergeant Goodson is married to Sammie and they have two children: Kaiker and Boone.

Corporal Sean W. Long was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 3, serving Polk County. Long was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 18, 2004, as a member of the 82nd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop H, Zone 6, Andrew and Buchanan counties. On January 18, 2007, he transferred to Troop D, Zone 3, Polk County. On December 1, 2014, he was promoted to corporal and remained in Zone 3 as the assistant zone supervisor.

Sergeant Long graduated from Humansville High School in Humansville, Missouri, in 1991. He attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. Sergeant Long is married to Robin and they have one child: Abigail.
