According to the Highway Patrol report, a westbound 2017 Ford Escape driven by David L. Pentola, 61, Carthage, struck a pedestrian, Rebecca L. Wallace, 39, Joplin, who ran out in front of the vehicle.
Wallace was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Joplin, to be treated for serious injuries.
