A Nevada man was killed in a one-vehicle accident today at Marmaduke Park in Nevada.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Jerod R. Gerster, 21, Nevada, driving a 2009 Pontiac G5, failed to negotiate a right hand curve, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Gerster was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:10 a.m.
A passenger, Cayden A. Campbell, 21, Nevada, was treated for serious injuries at Nevada Regional Medical Center.
The exact time of the crash is uncertain. The crash remains under investigation.
The fatality was the first in 2021 for Highway Patrol Troop D.
