Parsons man arrested for drunk and disorderly behavior

(From the Parsons Police Department)

Today, November 9th, 2023, officers responded to the area of 17th and Grand Ave. for a report of a disorderly subject yelling obscenities, blocking traffic in the roadway and confronting citizens & motorists in the area.

Officers arrived and found Perry Myers, age 34 of Parsons, standing in the intersection of 17th and Grand Ave. Myers was still yelling obscenities and engaging in noisy conduct tending reasonably to arouse alarm, anger or resentment in others in the neighborhood.

Myers was initially detained for disorderly conduct. The arresting officer detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Myers, as well as other indicators of intoxication.

A breath test was administered, and Myers was found to have a measurement 4 times the limit for motor vehicle operation.

Thank you to the citizens that called and reported this dangerous behavior and potentially saved Mr. Myers from injury or death, if he were to have been involved in a collision with a motor vehicle.

Myers was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Pedestrian Under the Influence.

This continues to be an ongoing investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
