A Wyandotte, Oklahoma man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 11:46 p.m. Thursday on Peace Church Road a mile and a half north of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer driven by John W. Lynch, 49, Wyandotte, ran off the roadway and struck a ditch causing the vehicle to overturn, hit a fence and burst into flames.
Jasper County Deputy Coroner Austin Simpson pronounced Lynch dead at the scene.
The fatality was the 128th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
