Three injured in accident near Racine, Joplin woman charged with DWI, felony child endangerment

A Joplin woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and two felony counts of child endangerment following a one-vehicle accident 6:50 p.m. Friday on Route CC, four miles south of Racine.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Kia Sedona driven by Emily D. Watts, 27, Joplin, ran off the roadway, struck a ditch and a fence.


Watts and two passengers, Conner Sprague, 3, and Felicity Sprague, 1, both of Joplin, were treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Watts was also cited for careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
