Crowder names employees of the year

(From Crowder College)

Three employees of Crowder College received “Employee of the Year” awards for the 2015-16 year at an end-of-year all staff luncheon on May 13th. There was one employee selected from each employee category: faculty, professional staff, and classified (support) staff. Employees were nominated by their peers and/or students and winners were selected by area Chambers of Commerce.
The Gold Star award for faculty went to David Jamieson, Life Science Instructor, Cassville Instructional Site. Mr. Jamieson was nominated based upon his ability to relate to all students and his willingness to find a way to help any student learn. Nominator’s stated, “While Mr. Jamieson sets the bar high, he always encourages students to challenge themselves in every way. Mr. Jamieson goes above and beyond to help his students to learn to be successful in their chosen career path and when I enter his classroom I know I will be challenged to learn.  He can teach the toughest topics and make them understandable.” This award is selected and presented by the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Professional Staff Employee of the Year award went to Chris Bandy, Computer Analyst/Database Manager. Chris was nominated based upon his knowledge, supportiveness, kindness and patience as he administers Crowder’s database, Jenzabar. One of his nominators stated, “Chris is called all over campus to help staff each and every day. Jenzabar touches all departments and all campuses and Chris works diligently to ensure it works smoothly. Chris does all this with humor, fun, and a bit of ornery.” This award is selected by the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce and presented by the President of the Crowder College Professional Staff Association.
The Classified Staff Employee of the Year award went to Doreen Clouse, TRIO Administrative Assistant.  Doreen was nominated based upon her passion for education, her willingness to roll up her sleeves at a moment’s notice to help a colleague, and her dedication in providing exceptional customer service.  Doreen was nominated by several people, one of whom commented: “Doreen exemplifies servant leadership. She is always willing to pitch in on any given project. She volunteers both on campus and in her community. Her selflessness and strong work ethic have assisted many students over the years. As a Crowder College alum, she embodies the characteristics that we hope to encourage or instill in all of our students.”   This award is selected and presented by the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce.
