A Liberal man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 7:20 p.m. Monday Belle Center Road, five miles north of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Kia driven by Dylan T Freeze, 22, Liberal, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck three mailboxes and a road sign, then overturned, ejecting Freeze.
Freeze, who was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, was also charged with lane violation, no insurance, and no seat belt.
