MSSU Phi Beta Lambda members earn statewide honors

Missouri Southern State University’s Phi Beta Lambda Club earned a number of honors – including six first-place awards – during the recent 57^th annual State Leadership Conference in Springfield, Mo.

The conference, held April 23, featured professional seminars and competitive events for individuals and teams. Participating schools included the University of Missouri-Columbia, Missouri State University, Southeast Missouri State University, Truman State University, College of the Ozarks and Crowder College.

Students from Missouri Southern received 19 medals during the competition. Twelve students from the chapter qualified to compete in the National Leadership Conference, to be held June 24-26 in Atlanta, Ga.

During the conference, Emmalee Smith was elected to serve as the Missouri vice president for the Future Business Leaders of America-PBL Relations.

The Phi Beta Lambda Club at Missouri Southern is sponsored by the Robert W. Plaster School of Business. The collegiate equivalent of Future Business Leaders of America, PBL is an educational association of postsecondary student members preparing for careers in business. There are more than 11,000 active members in the United States, including 350 members in 20 Missouri chapters.
