Crowder College Transport Training student Miranda Quinene scored in the top 1 percent on the National Career Readiness Certificate WorkKeys test.
Crowder College participates in the NCRC WorkKeys testing as part of the Work Ready Communities in which Newton County was one of the first in the state. WorkKeys is a step on the path to closing skills gaps and improving the workforce quality.
Quinene choose transport training as a career because her fiancĂ©e’ is also in transport training. Quinene was recruited and employed prior to graduation by XPO Logistics, Joplin, Missouri. She will drive 7,500 with a trainer before driving on her own for the company.
Prior to Crowder Quinene served in the Coast Guard where she earned a Special Ops Bronze Star, Gold Star, and other awards.
Quinene said that Crowder’s instructors were awesome! They helped her so much and this training will help attain her career goals. She hopes to be able to transfer and drive in the state of Florida in the near future.
