(From the Joplin Police Department)
Incident Spotlight
On November 7th at 8:14 a.m. one of our officers stopped two males for walking in the middle of the road at 10th and Jackson. One of them, a 31-year-old male, was found to have a domestic assault warrant from the city. Once arrested, it was discovered he had a light bulb in his coat pocket that had been transformed for smoking meth. It had burnt meth residue in it. He also had a baggie of meth. Felony drug charges submitted.
On November 7th at 10:24 p.m. one of our officers was driving westbound on 41st at Kentucky, and an eastbound Ford F-150 was driving toward him on wrong side of the road. He turned around and stopped the vehicle at 42nd and Pennsylvania. The female driver, 29 from Joplin, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. A 35-year-old passenger was found to have one syringe in each shoe and was arrested for drug paraphernalia.
(This is the first time the lightbulb converted meth pipe and "the ol' needle hidden in each shoe trick" has made the Incident Spotlight)
