Tax Levy for 2018-2019
Mr. Wood said the proper notice has been sent out for the hearing, and the purpose of this annual public hearing is to set the proposed property tax levy rate for Crowder College as required by Missouri law. He said the rate is the maximum ceiling level as set by the State Auditor’s Office from rates provided by the county Assessors’ offices. Mr. Wood noted that Crowder’s assessed valuation went up by over $19M from last year. He asked if any citizen present wished to be heard by the Board regarding the proposed tax rate of 0.43 cents per $100 assessed valuation, which is the same as in the past and is estimated to provide revenues of approximately $3.8M. There being no one to speak, Mr. Wood called for a motion. A MOTION to approve the 0.43 cent tax levy rate per $100 assessed valuation was made by Mr. Butler, seconded by Mr. Vancuren, and unanimously carried.
Adjournment
Mr. Wood declared the public tax levy hearing adjourned at approximately 10:05 a.m., and it was immediately followed by the regular Board of Trustees meeting.
