Leggett & Platt official announces retirement, search launched for new CFO

On August 8, 2018, Matthew C. Flanigan, the Company’s Executive Vice President – Chief Financial Officer, notified the Company of his decision to retire as an officer of the Company. A specific date for Mr. Flanigan’s retirement has not been set, and Mr. Flanigan has indicated he is willing to continue serving as Chief Financial Officer until a successor has been hired and through a reasonable transition period.

The Company plans to begin a search to replace Mr. Flanigan as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Flanigan has served in that role since 2003.


On the same date, Mr. Flanigan also notified the Company of his decision to retire as a director of the Company to be effective concurrent with his retirement as an officer. Mr. Flanigan has served as a director since 2010.

President and CEO Karl G. Glassman commented, “I want to thank Matt for his many contributions to the success of Leggett & Platt. Matt has been an outstanding CFO, having served as CFO for approximately 15 years. He will be greatly missed, but we wish him well in his retirement.”
