JPD recovers vehicles stolen from Carthage, Vernon County, Barry County

Stolen Vehicle Arrests


-An officer attempted to stop a motorcycle for no plates and speed at 26th and Murphy Avenue. The motorcycle fled and parked at 20th and Bird, east alley, and the male and female ran on foot. 

Officers set a perimeter and found them hiding at the old hospital on 20th Street in a basement access. The motorcycle was reported stolen from Carthage.



-Shortly after, an officer stopped a motorycle at 20th and Connecticut for no license plate. The rider was arrested for driving while revoked and a Barry County Burglary Warrant. The VIN's had been removed from the motorcycle and he had no paperwork for it. It is presumed stolen and we are working to identify it.

-An officer stopped a Jeep at 26th and Maiden Lane for displaying license plates that checked to a Ford. The female driver was arrested for warrants and a check of the VIN showed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Vernon County.
