Irving Elementary goes on lockdown after Joplin man shot to death at Economy Inn and Suites

The Joplin Police Department responded to 1700 West 30th Street, Economy Inn and Suites, today at 11:49 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Diamond J. Bradley, 33, Joplin, who had been shot and had life threatening injuries. He was transported to Freeman Hospital.

Officers and detectives responded and searched for the suspect and began an investigation. The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Irving Elementary and other businesses went into lockdown out of precaution.



Deputies from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office also provided manpower and equipment to assist us.
The suspect shooter in this case was taken into custody in the area of Economy Inn and Suites at about 3:55pm
