Joplin Police K9s help capture men at 20th, 26th and Maiden Lane

K9 Pax and K9 Ben

On Wednesday morning at 2:52 a.m. an officer was on patrol at 26th and Maiden Lane. He saw a vehicle driving with no headlights driving in a manner that the officer believed the driver to be impaired. He attempted to stop the vehicle and it fled northbound to 2nd and Maiden Lane where the driver fled on foot. 

A perimeter was set and K9 Ben tracked through yards and through brush to the area of A and McCoy. The K9 located the male hiding in the woods and he was taken into custody. It appeared that the suspect had ingested marijuana at some point during his escape and was arrested for numerous offenses.



On Monday night at 11:29 p.m. an officer was on patrol and recognized a stolen vehicle from Bentonville, Arkansas. He attempted to stop it at 20th and Maiden Lane and it fled into a backyard of a house and the male driver fled. 

K9 Pax tracked the suspect and apprehended him hiding in a trash can. The suspect received medical attention and was transported to jai for driving the stolen vehicle, resisting and possession of meth. A passenger was also charged and the stolen truck was recovered.
