Sleeping driver rear-ends Joplin man's van, Carl Junction, Oronogo residents injured

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident 10 p.m. Friday on northbound I-35, 10 miles south of Cameron.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Jeremiah W. Gibson, 32, Gallatin, driving a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, fell asleep and struck the rear of a 1999 Ford Econoline van driven by Daniel D. Wallace, 63, Joplin.


Gibson and his wife, Shalena R. Gibson, 34, were treated for minor and moderate injuries, respectively, at Liberty Hospital.

Two passengers in Wallace's vehicle, Rogers D. Littlefield, 67, Oronogo, and Cherie A. Riley, 41, Carl Junction, were treated for minor injuries at Cameron Hospital.
