Joplin residents injured in four-vehicle, chain reaction crash on I-44

Two Joplin residents were injured in a four-vehicle, chain reaction crash 6:15 p.m. Thursday on I-44, two miles west of Mount Vernon.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2014 Dodge 3500 driven by Gregory C. Cleveland, 19, Royston, Georgia, rear-ended a 2012 Subaru Forester driven by David G. Fish, 64, Joplin, which rear-ended a 2014 Ford Focus driven by Kevin L. Brown, 45, Russellville, Arkansas, which rear-ended a 2011 Ford F-150 driven by John P. Sweeny, 41, Carthage.

Fish was treated for minor injuries and a passenger in his vehicle, Rosemary M. Fish, 62, Joplin, for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
