Sarcoxie Police Chief issues warning- The speed limit at 17th and High is 35 and it will be enforced

(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)

Let's consider this your warning.

A lot of you will recognize this intersection as 17th Street and High Street.

We have kids that cross here in the mornings and afternoons, we will sit here and enforce the 35mph until further notice. I will not have one of our kids or crossing guard hit.

The speed limit right there is 35 miles per hour. If you are headed east it drops to 35 mile per hour before Sarcoxie Hardware. There is a warning sign as well. Headed west it does not turn to 55 miles per hour until after the sign. Not before.

I received a message from the crossing guard that sits here in the mornings. I come up here and sit, guess what, she wasn't wrong.

First car by, a female in a blue SUV, 56 miles per hour at the intersection.

While typing this I had a small dark sports car coming east at 58 miles per hour at the intersection. Two vehicles headed west at 51mph at the intersection.

  1. Yet you continue to write a post instead of tickets? Wow!
I hope you ticket every last one, and remember anything over the speed limit by 20 mph can be charged with a felony...
