Connect2Culture announces lineup for Curtains Up Series

Connect2Culture (C2C), Joplin's community arts agency, announced its third annual Curtains Up Series at a press conference held Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 10:00am outside in front of Joplin Memorial Hall (212 W 8th St, Joplin, MO 64801).

C2C’s performing arts series – the Curtains Up Series – brings national touring artists to Joplin. C2C will utilize both Joplin Memorial Hall and the Joplin High School Performing Arts Center as their venues again this year. In its third year, the Curtains Up Series will consist of four outstanding performances:

1. Ailey II

Established in 1974, Ailey II is the junior company of the world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Today, personalized guidance, rigorous training, and involvement with distinguished choreographers ensure Ailey II performers offer stunning, world-class productions. Tickets: $30 Orchestra, $25 Mezzanine and Front Balcony, $20 Back Balcony.









2. David Phelps: It Must Be Christmas 2019 Tour

Joplin High School Performing Arts Center

With a vocal range spanning more than three octaves, David Phelps has led an astounding career beginning when he was just a child. His natural gift and passion for performing has spurred his success both as a member of the Gaither Vocal Band and as a solo artist. Today, Phelps remains a worldwide icon for the gospel genre. Tickets: $50 Orchestra, $40 Mezzanine and Front Balcony, $30 Back Balcony.

3. Voctave

Formed in 2015, the a cappella group Voctave came together to make magical arrangements of classic Disney songs and Broadway hits. Today, Voctave’s videos have received millions of views on social media and the group continues to create and perform in an ever-expanding range of musical genres. Tickets: $25 Orchestra, $20 Mezzanine and Front Balcony, $15 Back Balcony.

4. The Choir of Man

Tuesday, March 10, 2020 | 7:30pm

Joplin Memorial Hall

The Choir of Man pays tribute to an iconic, cultural fixture in Ireland: the pub. This 90-minute, high-energy, interactive performance combines harmonious musical numbers, foot-stomping choreography, and an on-stage bar for an unforgettable, feel-good performance!Tickets: $31 Front Floor, $21 Back Floor and Mezzanine.
