According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1995 International truck driven by Andrew G. Compton, 56, Lamar, failed ot negotiate a curve, the trailer of the vehicle slid off the road and the truck overturned.
Barton County Coroner Tammy DeHerrera pronounced Compton dead at the scene.
The fatality was the seventh in August and the 70th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
